Assessments

We offer a wide range of assessments tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Our highly trained staff bring in-depth knowledge and expertise to help provide clear insights into various areas, including Autism, ADHD, cognitive development, and more. Each assessment is designed to guide you with valuable information and support for effective strategies and interventions.

Autism Assessment

Our comprehensive Autism assessments begin by conducting a clinical interview with parents/carers in order to gain a detailed understanding of your child's needs, developmental history and everyday functioning. Our experienced clinicians will also utilize formal Autism assessments in conjunction with their highly developed professional skills to observe the way your child interacts, communicates and participates during tasks. With this information combined we are able to make an informed diagnosis and recommend interventions to suit.

ADHD Assessment

Our ADHD assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation to help diagnose Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults. The process involves a detailed clinical interview, behavioral questionnaires, and standardized tests to assess attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity levels. Our experienced clinicians work closely with parents, teachers, and other relevant professionals to gather a complete picture of an individual's behavior across various settings. With this information, we can make an informed diagnosis and recommend tailored interventions to support better focus, organization, and self-regulation

Cognitive Assesment

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) is a standard intelligence test for children and adolescents, assessing cognitive abilities such as verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed. This tool provides a detailed profile of intellectual strengths and weaknesses, helping identify learning disabilities and cognitive delays. The assessment takes one hour to complete in our office.

The Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT) assesses academic achievement in reading, writing, mathematics, and oral language. Administered by our staff, it helps identify learning difficulties and informs educational planning by comparing an individual’s performance to peers. The results guide the development of tailored educational and therapeutic interventions. This assessment takes 2 hours to complete in our office.

Functional Capacity Assessment

Our functional assessment helps us understand how an individual performs daily activities essential for independence. Conducted by our occupational therapist, this evaluation looks at physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, identifying areas for improvement. It forms the basis for a personalized plan aimed at enhancing daily functioning and quality of life. This assessment takes 2 hours to complete.

Sensory Assessment

Our sensory assessment helps identify how an individual processes and responds to sensory stimuli in their environment. This evaluation looks at various sensory inputs, including touch, sight, sound, movement, and balance, to understand how they affect daily functioning. Conducted by our experienced occupational therapists, the assessment provides valuable insights into sensory sensitivities or challenges, helping to develop personalized strategies to manage and enhance sensory experiences. This assessment takes 1–2 hours to complete.

Behavioural Assessment

The BASC (Behavior Assessment System for Children) evaluates a child’s emotional well-being and behavioral functioning through a combination of self-report questionnaires, teacher and parent ratings, and structured observations. This holistic approach helps in diagnosing emotional and behavioral disorders, guiding intervention strategies, and tracking progress over time. The BASC is completed online at your convenience.
